HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) — A small plane made an emergency landing on the sand at Huntington Beach on Monday.

The Piper PA-28 Cherokee plane made the emergency landing on the beach at Magnolia Street just after 2 p.m.

There were two people on board at the time of the crash, according to the FAA. No injuries were reported.

However, Huntington Beach police said the pilot was the only person on board.

According to the FAA, the pilot reported an engine issue following departure from Santa Ana’s John Wayne Airport. Still, the cause of the emergency landing remains under investigation.
