A driver was rescued after crashing and plunging off the cliff along Pacific Coast Highway and landing on the rocky shoreline in Ventura County.

California State Park rangers and lifeguards, as well as county firefighters, responded to the scene at Point Mugu State Park around 7 p.m. Thursday.
The car landed on the rocks directly below the road, and rescue teams pulled the driver out and hoisted her up to safety.

The driver, only identified as an adult woman, was the only person in the car. She was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
