KOREATOWN, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A woman was killed in a violent crash near an intersection in Koreatown early Friday morning.

It unfolded around 12:30 a.m. as a driver that was traveling southbound on Ardmore Avenue hit another car driving westbound on 8th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The car that was hit spun out of control and hit a pole. The driver, only identified as a woman in her 30s, died at the scene.
The impact sent a car up onto the sidewalk where it finally came to a stop up against the wall of a building. Parked cars in the area were also struck with debris from the crash, and a fire hydrant was sheared, sending water shooting high into the air.

Neighbors told Eyewitness News off-camera that a car appeared to have been speeding before the deadly crash.
Video from the scene showed another woman being loaded onto an ambulance, but it’s unclear if she was the driver of the other vehicle.
