Unfortunately, many older adults in this role experience isolation and don’t always get the recognition they deserve.
In honor of Grandparents Day on Sept. 13, The N.O.W Church is opening its doors to families across Southern California for an afternoon of celebration and fun.
From 4-6:30 p.m., visitors can enjoy live music, games, mental health and wellness resources, and programming focused on our amazing grandparents.
“Once you get that ‘grandparent’ title, it’s like, retired,” Pastor E. Hamilton said.

“As a grandparent, I encourage other people to be more involved in the kids’ lives, take a load off the kids, you know, you’re now at a point where you can assist.”
Pastor E said this year’s celebration is all about the smiles.
“We’re putting something together pretty unique this year,” he said.
“We invite all to come out. This is all exclusive. It’s nothing religional…. it is just time to spend together, and celebrate one another at this joyous occasion.”
