LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) — A woman has been charged with murder nearly eight months after her 2-year-old son died in Lancaster, according to authorities.

The case stems from the death of the boy in November 2025 at a home in Lancaster. According to homicide detectives, the child died after suffering severe burns.
Investigators have not released additional details about how the child was injured or what they believe led to the fatal burns.

On July 9, authorities arrested the child’s mother, Rayzhanna Greenhoward, and booked her at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of murder.
On Monday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged Greenhoward with murder, assault on a child causing death and child abuse resulting in death.

Greenhoward is scheduled to be in court for her arraignment on Tuesday.
