LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Dodgers star Freddie Freeman exited Wednesday night’s game against the Kansas City Royals after falling into the visitors’ dugout while trying to catch a foul ball.

The scary moment happened in the eighth inning when Royals player Isaac Collins hit a foul popup. As Freeman tracked the ball, he approached the Royals’ dugout in an effort to make the catch and fell down the dugout stairs.
Freeman remained in the game at first base after being checked on by the training staff. Tommy Edman later pinch-hit for him in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Dodgers defeated the Royals 4-2.
After the game, Freeman told reporters he was experiencing soreness but was in good spirits. He added that he did not hit his head when he fell.

“I am sore. Kneecaps are sore, shoulders sore, hands sore, wrists sore,” Freeman said.
Manager Dave Roberts said that Freeman is day-to-day.
“I think that we really dodged a bullet,” Roberts said.
“He was gonna be down on Friday. I’ll just kind of get with him tomorrow and see how he is tomorrow,” Roberts added.
