BELLFLOWER, Calif. (KABC) — A man who authorities said was armed was shot by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies following a confrontation in a Bellflower neighborhood Friday night.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Artesia Boulevard, where gunfire erupted during the encounter.
Aerial footage from AIR7 showed a blood-soaked sidewalk and a detective shining a flashlight on a handgun lying on the ground. The footage also captured multiple evidence markers and bullet casings scattered nearby.

The man who was shot by deputies was taken to a local hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
