GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) — Crews worked to put out a brush fire that broke out on a hillside in the Eagle Rock area Thursday afternoon, tearing through one home and threatening others.

The fire was burning near the 2 Freeway, leading to the California Highway Patrol shutting down several lanes.
Video from AIR7 showed one home engulfed in flames in the 2800 block of Palmer Drive. Fire officials said everyone inside the home got out and were safe.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said crews coordinated “simultaneous structure defense and brush fire suppression. Specialty companies including LAFD Air Ops and Crew 4 are on scene.”

L.A. Park Rangers also helped with water tenders, LAFD added.
At about 3 p.m., LAFD announced that the brush fire’s forward progress had been stopped and crews would transition to mop up and full containment. The blaze scorched at least one acre.
There were no reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
