POMONA, Calif. (KABC) — A driver who was being chased by police violently crashed in Pomona early Wednesday morning.

The chase happened around 2 a.m. outside an apartment complex near Towne and Bonita avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A view from AIR7 showed a blue sedan that appeared to be partially wrapped around a palm tree. Debris was scattered across the street.

The condition of the driver was unclear.
The chase started a short time before when San Bernardino County deputies tried to pull over the driver for an unspecified vehicle code violation. The pursuit then continued into Pomona.
