INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) — A woman was found fatally shot and a man was hospitalized after a car slammed into a beauty salon in Inglewood, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded at 9:07 p.m. to the 4400 block of Lennox Boulevard, near Hawthorne Boulevard, in Inglewood, regarding reports of a shooting. Witnesses told deputies they heard shots at the intersection prior to the vehicle in which the victims were traveling in crashed into a building, said sheriff’s Deputy Tracy Koerner, a spokesperson for the agency.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by L.A. County Fire Department paramedics, sheriff’s homicide Lt. Daniel Vizcarra said. She was not immediately identified.

The second victim was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.

Homicide detectives were sent to the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.

News video showed a gray Dodge Charger on the sidewalk in front of the building on the corner of Lennox and Hawthorne boulevards.
