SANTA MONICA, Calif. (KABC) — A new music festival set to happen in Santa Monica later this month has been canceled due to damage from the recent tropical weather that wreaked havoc on the Southern California coast.

The inaugural Ocean Way Festival was scheduled for Sept. 26 – 27 on the beach, just south of the Santa Monica Pier.
However, storm surf and runoff from Hurricane Marie eroded a large portion of the festival site over Labor Day weekend.
The area was deemed unsafe for the production and for the audience.
Olivia Dean and The Killers were among the performers on the lineup.
According to festival organizers, refunds are being processed automatically, and ticket holders do not need to take any further action.

The city of Santa Monica says plans are underway to bring Ocean Way Festival back in 2027.
