SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (KABC) — Crews are battling a growing brush fire in San Juan Capistrano.

The Gibby Fire started at about three acres around 2 p.m., but quickly grew to 150 acres, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
Less than half an hour later, fire authorities said the fire had grown to 450 acres and was burning at a moderate-to-rapid rate of spread.
The fire is burning in the area of Ortega Highway and Gibby Road.
Additional ground crews and firefighting aircraft have been ordered to the area to help fight the flames.

Ortega Highway (SR-74) is closed eastbound at Gateway in Rancho Mission Viejo and westbound at Grand in Lake Elsinore.
At last check, there were no evacuation warnings or orders in place for nearby residents.
