DOWNEY, Calif. (KABC) — Four people were arrested after two adjacent stores in Downey, an AutoZone and a Spirit Halloween, were burglarized early Monday, authorities said.

Officers responded about 3:45 a.m. to the area of Firestone Boulevard and Ryerson Avenue regarding a possible street takeover, and while responding, an additional call came in about 20 people burglarizing the AutoZone at 7075 Firestone, according to the Downey Police Department.
Officers also discovered that a burglary had occurred at the adjacent Spirit Halloween store at 7171 Firestone Blvd.
An alarm company, monitoring the auto parts store through closed-circuit television cameras, reported seeing approximately 20 individuals inside the store taking merchandise.

“Downey Police Department detectives are actively investigating both incidents,” a news release said.
An estimate of the value of the merchandise that was taken was not available.
Over the weekend, an AutoZone store in East Los Angeles was looted twice within 24 hours as street takeovers occurred nearby.
