MAYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) — Three people, including a child, were found dead after a fire erupted at a home in Maywood Saturday, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a fire around 2:25 a.m. Saturday on the 5000 block of East 61st Street where they saw smoke coming from a two-story residence and located three deceased people inside the building, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Phillip Arellano said.
One of the victims was confirmed to be a child, Arellano said.
A handgun was found in the room where the three deceased individuals were, the sheriff’s department said.

The fire began on the first floor, according to the sheriff’s department, but further details were not available.
