SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Police are investigating a deadly stabbing that occurred at the Sylmar/San Fernando Metrolink station Friday afternoon.

Officers responded at about 2:05 p.m. Friday to the 12200 block of Frank Modugno Drive to reports of a stabbing, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said a man on a bicycle stabbed another man before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
AIR7 was over the scene as police established a perimeter in the area to locate the suspect. Several officers were seen in a standoff position at a motel near the train station. Aerial images also showed what appeared to be a man on the ground on the train platform. A white police canopy was later put up around that person.

“The Sylmar/San Fernando station remains open and accessible at this time,” Metrolink said in a statement.
Shortly after 7 p.m., the LAPD told Eyewitness News that an adult suspect was in custody and there were no other suspects.
No further details were immediately known.
