LOS ANGELES — <\/span>Sigourney Weaver, known for her roles in science fiction films including “Alien” and “Avatar,” was honored with a hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre, marking her latest milestone in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

And now, she’s set to join another major franchise, making her debut in the “Star Wars” universe alongside “The Mandalorian and Grogu.”<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Weaver was joined by co-star Pedro Pascal and filmmaker James Cameron, who paid tribute to her career and impact on the industry.<\/p>\n

“To become part of this cavalcade of stars this pantheon of incredible talents from every aspect of the business is the greatest honor I can think of,” Weaver said.<\/p>\n

Cameron praised her legacy, saying, “Sigourney basically created the ultimate icon of female badassery in cinema, which I think stands to this day. You were the intelligent woman that the men didn’t listen to, and they all got wiped out. And let that be a lesson to us all.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Pascal highlighted her influence within the genre.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been playing a space dad in the ‘Star Wars’ universe for eight years now, but Sigourney Weaver is the original space mom,” he said.<\/p>\n

The ceremony included moments reflecting Weaver’s ongoing contributions to film, including a preview clip tied to her upcoming role in the “Star Wars” franchise.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been able to hummingbird my way from one story to another, from one amazing character to another, one decade to another, following great stories no matter where they lead me, and I’ve worked with the most wonderful people,” Weaver said.<\/p>\n

She went on to say, “You know, if you’re gonna end up on your knees on Hollywood Boulevard, this is by far the best scenario,” she added, garnering laughter and applause.<\/p>\n
