ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) — <\/span>Disneyland’s Autopia ride is preparing to go fully electric.<\/p>\n

The resort has an agreement with the California Air Resources Board to retire the Tomorrowland ride’s current engines in early 2027.<\/p>\n

“Work is underway on the design, engineering, and testing of a fully electric vehicle prototype, and we look forward to sharing more details soon,” park officials said.<\/p>\n

Disneyland first announced their plans to replace the current gas-powered vehicles in 2024.<\/p>\n

Autopia debuted with the opening of Disneyland in 1955 and quickly became popular among young guests.<\/p>\n
