NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KABC) — <\/span>Dramatic new video shows the dangers lifeguards are facing as high tides and the chance of rip currents continues along the Southern California coastline.<\/p>\n

Footage shows three lifeguards and one bystander jumping into the choppy waters to help a struggling bodyboarder at The Wedge in Newport Beach last Tuesday.<\/p>\n
