VENICE BEACH, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A man is in jail, facing attempted murder charges after being accused of waging a bloody attack with a samurai sword in Venice Beach.

The Los Angeles Police Department said one person was injured in the attack, which occurred on Thursday just before 6:30 p.m.
Officers responded to the 700 block of Rose Avenue in Venice to a report of a man wielding a samurai sword, according to LAPD. The attack left blood all over a retaining wall, in front of a business.

The condition of the victim remains unknown. Police say the victim suffered injuries to the arm.

The suspect was arrested on Saturday for attempted murder, according to LAPD.
It remains unclear what led to the attack.
