WINNETKA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A crash on a valley road in Winnetka left four people, including children, trapped inside a car beneath a towering geyser from a sheared fire hydrant.

Video posted to the Citizen App shows the geyser of water raining down after the crash, which happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. Sunday on Winnetka Avenue.
Fire crews said two cars were involved in the crash.
First responders had to take one of the doors off as they worked to get the children out of the car. The hydrant was eventually shut off by firefighters.

Paramedics reportedly took four people to the hospital. A fifth person was assessed but declined to be taken to the hospital. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
