Jurors reached their decision, and the verdict is expected to be read Tuesday afternoon. Atkins faces charges stemming from a 2018 police pursuit and shootout that led to the death of Melyda Corado.

Corado was struck by a Los Angeles Police Department bullet, but prosecutors argue Atkins’ actions directly triggered her death.
