LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Thick marine layer clouds have brought a significant cooldown to Southern California.

With the return of May gray conditions, temperatures have dropped back down to where they should be for the next few days — around the mid-to-upper 70s and low-80s.
Then, we’re tracking yet another warmup heading into next weekend.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Wednesday will see thick marine layer clouds in the morning, with a high of 72 degrees and a low of 55. Temperatures will bump back to the upper-70s by the weekend.
The valleys and Inland Empire on Wednesday can expect cloudy skies with a high of 76 degrees and a low of 54. Temperatures will bump back up to the 80s by Thursday.
Beaches on Wednesday will see cloudy marine layer skies, with the sun finally peaking out by the evening, with a high of 65 degrees and a low of 57.

Mountain communities on Wednesday can expect a high of 68 degrees and a low of 38. Expect a sunny rest of the week.
Desert areas on Wednesday will see gusty winds with a high of 83 degrees and a low of 49. Palm Springs is expected to reach 98 degrees.
