FRAZIER PARK, Calif. (KABC) — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Frazier Park area in Kern County early Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake hit just after 3:30 a.m. about 1 mile southeast of Frazier Park, the USGS said. The USGS ShakeAlert system was also activated.
The quake’s magnitude was initially recorded as 4.2 before it was downgraded to 4.1.
A 2.9-magnitude aftershock was later recorded in the area just before 11 a.m., according to the USGS.

No injuries or damage were immediately reported following either quake.
Frazier Park is located along the Interstate 5 corridor in the mountains of southwestern Kern County, about 70 miles north of Los Angeles.
