The footage was captured Sunday. The pair was actually looking for the shark after hearing about a sighting. The woman’s uncle sent up a drone to try and help find the shark and guide the paddleboarders in the right direction.

They headed back to land thinking they missed it, only to realize the shark hadn’t just found them, it was tracking them the entire time.

“We paddled pretty far out… He said that he saw something and that we had to head back to shore right now. But I didn’t see it because I was just looking forward, paddling. So I didn’t know what he saw, how big it was, so we just went straight back. But that was a little nerve-racking,” said Kayla Ross.

Ross went out twice to try to find the shark. She said she would go and do it again, and hopes she can find an even bigger shark next time.
